Apples
that retain their flavor work best for baking. We recommend:
Idared,
Jonathan, Melrose and Jonagold
For
added flavor mix in the following varieties:
Haralson, Winesap, Golden Delicious. Although
these apples are chunkier when cooked, they add wonderful
flavor to baked goods

good eating apples that retain their color for visual appeal,
such as:
Honey
Crisp, Red Delicious and Golden Delicious

Tips:
Dip
fresh-cut apples and other fruit in lemon juice to preserve
the color of the fruit, for best results. In addition, to
adding visual appeal, the lemon juice brings out the flavor
