Orchard Mascot

Rocky, the ultimate Corn Husker

We aren't sure whether he just wants a snack or whether he wants to create some extra paths through the maze so his two-legged friends don't get lost.

Corn Maze Bandit Strikes Again

We've named a person of interest . . . well, sort of. We believe Rocky is helping himself to the corn in the maze. This wouldn't be a problem except that he harvests the entire cornstalk and forges new trails through the maze. We recently invested in some milkbones in the hope that it will distract him.

If you happen to catch him in the act of stealing corn, please send us a photo. Call it Corn Maze CSI.

Cider and Raspberry slushes back this fall in September by popular demand.

Butterfly Garden Open in September - In the meantime feel free to wander out to the garden after picking your raspberries. We don't have any of our signs up, but there are tons of butterflies. Great opportunity for photographers to capture these guys resting on flowers.

monarch logoMonarch Waystation - We recently registered our fall butterfly garden as a Monarch Waystation. Check out the Monarch Watch web site for more details on this program. The Monarchs will be migrating through the orchard in mid-September, approximately 9/8 thru 9/20. We hope to have a "tagging" party during this timeframe so we can help track the Monarchs as they head to Mexico.

PUMPKINS: The pumpkins are babies now but they'll grow tons the next few months . . .

We'll have giant pumpkins, little pumpkins, and some pumpkins blue. Pumpkins with "warts" - yikes! . . . and caveman gourds too.

Facebook - Yes, we are now on Facebook. It is all very new to us, so please bear with our posts. Just click on the "Like" icon to become a fan and stay-up-to-date on orchard happenings.

Heirloom Tomatoes -- look for these in our discovery/butterfly garden this fall.
