Where Fall Begins . . .

The "Secret" to picking the best berries is knowing where to look.

As you walk down the aisles, you will notice that there are branches or "canes" that are draped over the walking area. Branches typically lean to the ground when they are heavy with fruit. Lift up the branch and you are likely to be rewarded with lots of juicy, red berries.

Other tips:

Wait until approx. 10 am to begin picking -- Why? Early fall mornings often find the patch covered with a heavy dew. It is best to wait until the dew dries before you begin picking. Waiting until the patch is dry allows the berries you pick to keep longer and, frankly, it is more comfortable if you can pick without getting drenched.

Keep both hands free -- You'll pick your berries much more quickly and find the hidden treasures on the heavy canes more easily if you can use both hands. Simply tie or belt the picking bucket to your waist to free up your hands. We have ties available in the sales room for your conveniance.
