Pumpkin Cream Pie

October 13, 2020 by orchardartwork

We decided to try out another “Pioneer Woman” recipe. You can pretty much rely on her to deliver something scrumptious and fairly buttery 😉 And, this recipe does not disappoint.

Pumpkin Cream Pie

Unintended Short-cut: We  could only find instant pudding in the little country store in our town, so we went with that. On the upside, that substitution allowed us to skip the cooking process. We just mixed the instant pudding with the half-and-half/whipping cream and added the canned pumpkin. The texture seemed just fine and it saved a few steps.

My that homemade graham cracker crust is just delicious!

And, who doesn’t love adorning with crushed grahams?

We probably should have added a dollop of whipped cream on top for the photo-op. Next time, next time.

Pumpkin Sheet Cake

October 5, 2020 by orchardartwork

This scrumptious offering is from the Food Network’s “Pioneer Woman”. The cake is super moist and the cream cheese frosting is divine. The finished product is almost candy-like.

If you are looking for something that comes together quickly but still tastes fantastic, you should give this a try!

FYI – The sheet pan Ree references is 18 x 13 inches. If you don’t have anything that particular size, a 9 x 13 baking dish would work. You’d just need to plan on baking it a bit longer.

Pumpkin Cinnamon Rolls

September 28, 2020 by orchardartwork

Can you say “homemade dough”? Yes, that’s what we are talking about. Not something to do every day but if you have some extra time, say on a rainy weekend, it is worth a go.

Making this recipe required several trips to the store due to lack of planning on the part of said “test kitchen”. I find it frustrating when you think to get the special ingredients but assume the staples are in ready supply back at home, only to find out they are NOT.

Please forgive the missing piece in the back left of this photo. We just couldn’t wait for the camera shot to try a bite. Tasty. Love the pumpkin spice flavor and the gorgeous color!

Our COVID-19 Plan

August 24, 2020 by orchardartwork

We know that outdoor activities are among the safest choices for entertainment during the pandemic and we so look forward to seeing you this fall! We are committed to implementing precautions with our team members but need your help to make the orchard as safe as possible for all.

WHAT WE ASK OF YOU

Bring a Mask. Masks are required when you check in at the gazebo, when you are inside the apple barn shopping or checking out, and anywhere else you aren’t able to social distance. Typically, you wouldn’t need to wear your mask when you are outdoors in the orchard

Maintain Social Distancing – Please preserve at least 6 feet of distance between your group and others whenever possible

Sanitize Your Hands. Please be sure to use the hand sanitizers that we’ll have posted for your use near the attractions and at checkout

Stay Healthy. Please visit the orchard only if you are healthy. Stay home if aren’t feeling well, have a fever, or have any other COVID-19 symptoms. As well, please stay home if you believe you have been exposed to the virus in the last 14 days

COVID-19 Warning

According to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention, an inherent risk of exposure to COVID-19 exists in any public place where people are present. COVID-19 is an extremely contagious disease that can lead to severe illness and death. Senior citizens and guests with underlying medical conditions are especially vulnerable.  By visiting our orchard, you voluntarily assume all risks related to exposure to COVID-19

It’s the last weekend of the season

July 18, 2020 by orchardartwork

This weekend, 10/17-18 will be our last of the season

Thank you to everyone who visited the orchard this fall. We really appreciate your support!

Looking for a great photo op? Grab a pic next to this giant – Meet Big Andy! He weighs in at over 800 lbs.

Grab a cup of our killer hot cider and let the kids roam the patch. Plenty of other activities to enjoy – like our kid-sized corn maze, discovery trail, straw tower and tire mountain to name a few.

Reminder: U-pick apple season  has already come to a close this year. More details here.

How to stay safe at the orchard? Please be sure to bring masks for your group. For the most part, you should be a-okay to roam the orchard without a mask, but at check-in and check-out or where you can’t social distance, you will want to use that mask. Here’s how you can help us make the fall orchard experience as safe as possible.
